Objective: In partnership with her Tennessean Travel Shop and Community Coffee brand, comes Dolly Parton’s very first coffee brand, as a nod to her beloved anthem “9 to 5” from the 1980’s comedy movie of the same name.
Why it works:
1. It’s Dolly Parton. Need I say more? She’s a national treasure; she can do no wrong. She gives away free books to kids, donated money to fund ongoing science with the Covid vaccine, has theme parks and travel centers, and brings smiles to millions of faces every day. This is our superhero yes, I’m gushing, but seriously, I dare you to find a person who doesn’t love her.
2. Ok, more gushing: she is a great actress with humor and warmth, and let’s face it, Dolly Parton merch is just downright cute. A coffee collab with Community Coffee fits, and the name “Cup of Ambition”, cherry on top. It’s lovely, sweet, cute, and iconic.
3. If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a thousand times: nostalgia is king. Whenever a brand can tickle our hippocampus with humor, nostalgia, and feel-good emotions, we are hooked! Dolly Parton knows this, and they will jump on this trend with gusto. The name is a great example of a callback for this.
